Fr. Lynn McCallum retired the end of July 2007.  Fr. Gene Pearson is our Interim Rector to help us through the transition period until we call a new Rector.  The Episcopal Church has an excellent, very defined, process for searching for and hiring a priest.  This can easily take a year or more.  The members of the Search Committee graciously ask for your prayers during this transition process.

Vestry Charge to the Search Committee of St. Andrew’s

 

  • To prayerfully undertake the search for the new Rector, and to commit itself, individually and corporately, to regular prayer regarding this responsibility;

 

  • To utilize the services of our search consultant, Anne Yug, as deemed necessary;

 

  • Develop a parish profile and present it to the Vestry for approval. The profile will likely be based upon many of the conclusions reached during the parish  meetings;

  • Develop a parish brochure, printed or electronic, to be used to introduce St. Andrew’s and the greater Toledo area to interested candidates;

 

  • There is not a set time frame for the search;

 

  • $6,000.00 has been budgeted for the search process, not including the costs of the consultant and the relocation of the new Rector;

 

  • To regularly communicate with the Vestry on a monthly basis or at a lesser interval, as necessary, with the Senior Warden;

 

  • To regularly communicate with the Parish family throughout the search process;

 

  • To act as good stewards of the funds allocated for the search process and to maintain accurate records. Payment or reimbursement of invoices shall be handled through the Church Treasurer;

 

  • To conduct the affairs of the committee in a spirit of unity, maintain appropriate confidentiality and arrive at consensus in all decisions as guided by the Holy Spirit;

 

  • Submit one candidate to the vestry for its approval.
