Fr. Pearson, our priest (ordained minister), helps guide us
as we learn what gifts and talents God has given each and every one of us.
Each baptized person is a minister, using those gifts to spread God's
Kingdom here on earth.
Fr. Pearson helped us
celebrate our varied heritage by wearing kilts at our special
St. Andrew's
Day celebration in early November.

Vestry
This is the Episcopal term for Board of Trustees. Our Vestry has 12
people; four parish “members in good standing” are elected at each Annual Meeting,
in January, to three-year terms. Officers are elected each year by the
Vestry members. The Senior Warden and Junior Warden (President & VP)
must be members of the Vestry. The Clerk, Treasurer & Assistant
Treasurer do not have to be
members of the Vestry. Vestry members and officers are expected to
attend monthly meetings (third Tuesday), be active in at least one of the
committees, participate in our events, and attend the Vestry Retreat /
Planning Session in February each year.
Worship Committee
This group works with the Rector, Choir Director, and others to plan various
aspects of our weekly and special liturgical celebrations. |

Some of our members create and install the
liturgical hangings for each season of the church year. |
|
|
Administration
This committee manages the building, grounds,
equipment, and financial business of our parish.
Communications
This committee collects, reviews, and edits
materials, and produces the web site and the newsletter, The NET. It
also assists with publicizing our church services and special events.
Welcoming
This committee welcomes visitors,
and helps new members become more included in our parish life. It sponsors
Newcomers Dinners and offers occasional training about how to improve our
welcoming skills.
Parish
Life
This committee organizes our many and varied activities, including
activities outside the parish, which we call the
St. Andrew's Adventurers.
|

Pastoral Care
This committee prepares food for and visits
parishioners who have just come home from the hospital, had a death in the
family, or just need a little special attention. It also coordinates
luncheons after funerals.
Coffee
Hour
These people pick up, set up, and clean up for the donuts, bagels, etc. that
are enjoyed after every 10:00 a.m. Sunday liturgy. |
|
ECW
The Episcopal Church Women organize various fundraisers, like book sales and
bake sales, to benefit the upkeep of our facility. |
|
Education
Helping our youth and adults learn and
enjoy is a special ministry.
|

 |
|
|
 |
|
Outreach
This committee organizes our efforts to donate time, talent and treasure to
charities. Our current projects include working with a Second Grade
class at McKinley School, providing food for people in need, donating teddy
bears to children who are in special programs and occasionally serving
dinner to the homeless at a central-city parish.

We also collect gifts, food and monies to help
families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
|
Campus Ministry
For several years, we provided
outreach to the students and staff at the University of Toledo. We
hope to reconnect with this ministry, especially since the University is
only a mile from our parish.

On this day the Lord has acted;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day:
To begin again,
To hope again,
To love again.
This is the day to know God again.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
