The German-American brass ensemble Eurobrass will present a concert on Sunday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. right here at St. Andrew´s.
Admission is free, though contributions are welcome, encouraged and well-deserved.
From the press release:
Concert attendees will experience brass music of the highest quality, performed with technical virtuosity, musical sensitivity, and infectious joy. The program is composed of works from many styles and time periods, including secular and sacred, virtuosic and gentle, bombastic and light-hearted. Well-known classical pieces are presented side-by-side with folk songs, hymns, and worship choruses.
The 12 members of the ensemble, all teachers or professional performers, come from the United States and Germany. Founded in 1978, the group tours annually in Germany, having performed only once before (1998) in the United States. Co-leaders of the group are Chris Woods, professor of music at Greenville College, Illinois, and Angie Hunter, chairperson of the non-profit organization “eurobrass – music that goes beyond,” based in Königsfeld, Germany.
